All over the world, musicians, artists and children are singing for clean fins. Join this fun charity project! We believe the more the merrier!
Over the past few weeks, our children have learned, that they need to wash their hands for 30 seconds. To get a feeling for the time span, they are advised to sing 'Happy Birthday' twice. We believe: there is still plenty of room for more creativity in this approach! That's why we wrote a brand-new, animated hand-washing-song, and added a timer to accompany the action.
Now we would like to encourage all children, singers, musicians, artists and anyone else who wants to join the project, to record their own version of this song - in all different languages out there and in every conceivable style of music. The variety of different versions will bring fun, will increase our positivity and conquer boredom over the bathroom sink quickly.
Besides, another positive side effect of all this? We will still be able to sing 'Happy Birthday' in the years to come, without thinking about a virus ... ;-)
On our Youtube channel you can always find new versions of #JohnnySharkfin. Musicians and children sing in different languages or present their own interpretations. Have a look!
Here you will find everything you need to participate:
the lyrics, the chords and a version of the animation without music. Sing 'Johnny Sharkfin' as a pop song, rap it, sing an aria or create a rock version. Go wild and be creative! Please share / Entertain others by sharing your interpretations on Instagram or Facebook, with the hashtags #johnnysharkfin #washyourfins #waschdeineflossen.
Note: The use of the material is free of charge for private use only. This is a non-profit and charity project by the parties involved as mentioned below. It is not permitted to use the material for commercial use, or for any purpose other than this project. Any other use will be prosecuted.
Illustrator Sabine Dully and author Eva Dax have written and illustrated several children's and picture books, which have been published in eighteen countries, all over the world. As a modern creative team, they have also developed narrative worlds, concepts for children's media and an entire app cosmos for the German children's channel SuperRTL. When establishing their business in 2018, the two founders made a vow to themselves, to never work for free, no unpaid projects … but than came along the idea of #washyourfins and 'Johnny Sharkfin ' ... and than, within the blink of an eye, they changed their mind.
www.dullydax.de'Bullte aus Bo' is an acoustic band from the Münsterland aerea in Germany. Acoustic, because the members Ralf Doetkotte, Jörg Weßels and Tobias Harmeling want to emphasise and concentrate on the essential. No amplifiers, synthesizers or effects should cloud the perception of their music. All three of them also have in common, that they are fathers, which is why various children's songs have been in the pipeline for quite some time. So this was their moment to contribute to the project. The band name was already suitable, as 'Bullte aus Bo' is the name of a rural warhorse from Astrid Lindgren's 'Emil in Lönneberga'. Tobias Harmeling and Eva Dax have been friends since early high school days – the whole band was delighted when introduced to the #waschyourfins – idea, and was not afraid to roll up their sleeves and play a big part in this project.
'Bullte aus Bo' - FacebookTrickstudio Lutterbeck GmbH, under the management of Matthias Bruhn and Richard Lutterbeck, specialises in classic animated films for children, producing for cinema and TV alike. In addition to the widely-known German TV educational series (about a mouse) 'Sendung mit der Maus', the studio is responsible for countless renowned productions, that have received national and international nominations and awards. Among them, the European co-production 'Fritzi: A Revolutionary Tale', which was screened at numerous festivals, received a nomination for a LOLA at the German Film Awards. And here is a fun fact: The animator at Trickstudio is Olaf Kamin, who is married to Sabine Dully. So persuasion to take part in the project, really was a piece of cake. One phone call and The Trickstudio was on board with their expertise in animation, bringing Jonny Sharkfin to life!!!
www.trickstudio.deWe would like to thank and express our sincere appreciation to the renowned Joncol Duo. Thank you for participating in our small project, contributing with your immense experience, which normally can be enjoyed not only by students at the Conservatory in Zurich, where they teach guitar, but also by the audience who enjoy Joncol Duo during their concerts worldwide, inspired by critics from all over the world. These two are responsible for the Spanish version of the song, which they have created with so much ingenuity, that when listening to it, we all felt dizzy for a while. We also want to thank their fantastic partners Anna Colom and Michael Boner who joined the project later on. For more information about Duo Joncol, just follow the link below:
www.duojoncol.comTaylor Smith, American jazz musician, really brought the flair and rhythm of New Orleans into the project. It was the band „Bullte from Bo“ who introduced us to Taylor, as they have shared the stage several times – and we were lucky! Taylor immediately returned our call and confirmed, that he was on board with the project. Great news! His English version of the song delighted us right away and supported our idea, to find collaboration musicians all over the world to translate the song in as many languages as possible. We highly appreciate that Taylor found the time in his busy schedule, as usually he travels the world with his band 'The Roamin' Jasmine'. He himself describes his style as - "Hot New Orleans Music to make you dance”. Well, we can say, that definitely works.
www.roaminjasmine.comManuel Goretti, Luciano Sibona and Filippo Lambertucci are from Northern Italy, a region unfortunately highly affected by the corona virus. This spring, they were supposed to go on tour with 'Bullte aus Bo' and Taylor Smith. Due to the pandemic, this tour has been cancelled.
Taylor Smith introduced 'Johnny Sharkfin' to the Italian musicians and they immediately agreed to participate with enthusiasm: 'We believe, that in general and especially in times of crisis like this, the power of music and art is fundamental and indispensable'.
Catherine Delsaut and Jean Luc Bernin live in France, in the department of Ardèche.
As a duo 'Tirs Croisés' they sing their own compositions and songs. They were working on their first CD for children when they heard of 'Johnny Sharkfin.'
They were so exited about the project idea, that they even interrupted their work in the studio and right away wrote a wonderfully catchy children's song for our shark.
If you like to hear more of their work have a look here:
